MS Dockville
The term MS DOCKVILLE has evolved into a synonym for cultural diversity. What originally set out to be a weekend festival has experienced several add-ons in its eight year of existence. Several weeks before the festival itself, the curated art camp MS ARTVILLE enables a communicative and artistic process for visitors and artists alike. Every weekend, new art projects are inaugurated whilst miscellaneous events take place. The highlight at the end of a summer full of art and music is the famous MS DOCKVILLE festival, where the created art works shape the character of a transdiciplinary festival that combines music and arts of all genres. In 2014, about 130 bands and DJs from all over the world – including Die Antwoord, Birdy, Flume, Chet Faker, Alle Farben and Warpaint, just to name a few – are expected to play on six handcrafted stages. Right in the famous Hamburg Harbour, between urban industry and untouched nature, about 22.000 visitors from all over Europe come to Hamburg to create a platform of current pop and sociocultural trends.
