Imagine a month of festivals. Now double it! From the beginning of 2 September to 31 October, a continuous run of festivals and events will bring world-class culture, arts, theatre, music and architecture to the capital. Highlights include:

World Port Days is a festival for people of all ages who love sailing ships, ports and maritime adventures. Expect spectacular demonstrations on the water, impressive ships and exciting port excursions.

The World Port Days traditionally takes place around the Maas River. This World Port event gives insight in Europe’s largest harbor. A wide range of activities is offered to the visitors. There are spectacular stunts on the water and fully organized excursions to one of the many companies located in Rotterdam.

Nights in Ljubljana Old Town is a mini festival closing the Summer in Ljubljana Old Town festival and symbolically concludes Ljubljana’s summer event season. The festival traditionally features outdoor concerts accompanied by a diverse mixture of other cultural and entertainment events taking place in the streets and squares of the old part of the city centre.

Bardentreffen festival is one of the biggest annual events in Nuremberg taking place over three days  in the city’s historic city center. The festival is attended by more than 200.000 visitors and across the 8 stages visitors can listen to famous artists from all over the world as well as artists nobody knows.People normally sit in the historic square of the old town, buy a beer and relax with the music played on stage-this is the beauty of this festival.

On Saturday 14 June 2014 all of Scheveningen will be celebrating the season’s first herring or “Hollandse Nieuwe”. This year, Vlaggetjesdag has embraced the theme 200 Years of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The theme has resulted in interesting additions to the packed nautical programme. 

During Vlaggetjesdag you can enjoy the Historical Dock, Nautical Market, Scheveningen Village and Scene, Old Dutch Children’s Games and spectacular shows starting at 11:00. Sample the new herring and behold the Netherlands’ largest fish selection with a wide diversity of fish caught from the North Sea.
